The bakery of the future
We are looking for innovative concepts for a shop fitting design that is much more than just functional. Get creative, impress the jury and the audience, and you could win one of our four prizes.
Show us your creative side
The design competition honours inspiring and sustainable shopping experiences: Your design should include a holistic store concept – from the interior design to the clever integration of modern technologies and environmentally friendly materials.
Show us your vision of a bakery of the future that combines efficient workflows, an extraordinary shopping experience and sustainability, and you could win one of the following prizes: €750 (1st place), €500 (2nd place), €250 (3rd place), €750 (audience award).
You don't need to be a professional to take part in the competition. Just fill out the registration form and upload your documents via the link provided.

The following points can be considered for your design
- Innovative interior design: Create a welcoming atmosphere with new, creative room concepts.
- Sustainability: Rely on environmentally friendly materials and energy-efficient solutions.
- Technological integration: Inspire your customers with digital price tags, order terminals and interactive features.
- Flexibility and functionality: Develop flexible, multifunctional interior design solutions.
- Customer experience: Create a shopping experience that promotes interaction between customers and products.
Who can participate?
- Students from fields such as architecture, interior design, marketing, AI, etc.
- Visitors and exhibitors at iba 2025
- People who are interested in the topics of ‘shopfitting’ and ‘bakeries’
- People who are currently working in the field/industry of shopfitting are excluded
What happens next?
Submission:
Submit your designs by 25 April 2025 at the latest.
Determining the winners:
The applicants take part in a jury assessment and a public vote.
Prize-giving ceremony:
The winners of the main prizes and the winner of the audience award will be presented with their prizes at the award ceremony on 20 May 2025 at 10 a.m. on the stage of the German Bakers' Confederation.
