Kneading Connection: Sustainable and Practical Possibilities for any Bakery
Adapting my uncle’s bakery with sustainable and practical design decisions that can be used by others, shunning away automation for enhancing the human experience between the customers and bakers, which makes the bakery special for new and returning customers and a comfortable workplace for bakers.
Beginning with a history of Busken, and identifying some of the current issues/assets with its shopping/working experience. Exploring “what makes the bakery special?” and how utilizing existing bakeries and fostering connections is the best for everyone and the environment. Followed by the design process, adapting existing conditions to improve the experience. The final proposal presents practical changes and amenities that make the bakery of the future enjoyable and sustainable for all users.
