
In addition to The iba.UIBC.CUP of Bakers, The iba.UIBC.CUP of Confectioners will take place from October 25 to 26, 2023. Based on the theme "The Animal World," the participating teams of two from Taiwan, Germany, Korea and Norway will create various pieces that will make our mouths water. In 2023, the best bakers from twelve international teams will once again face the ultimate challenge: Creating edible masterpieces under time pressure. Under the motto "The Animal World", the teams of two will create bread, small pastries, party pastries and Danish pastries as well as a showpiece in glass show bakeries. Judged by an expert panel of judges.

The coveted iba Trophy will be awarded for the eighth time at iba 2023. DBZ magazine, together with a jury of experts, will award the traditional prize. The prize is awarded to exhibitors who support and further develop the bakery trade through innovative developments and solutions in the categories Quality & Productivity, Energy & Environment, Digitalization and Hygiene.

The iba Trophy will be awarded on October 24, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. on the stage of the German Bakers' Confederation.

With the iba AWARD, Backtechnik Europe honors innovations for the industrial and line-oriented production of baked goods that are presented to the international industry for the first time at the trade show. The award winners are selected by an independent and honorary jury of experts following an inspection visit to the trade fair.

The next iba Awards ceremony will take place on October 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. on the stage of the German Bakers' Confederation.

The prestigious Baker of the Year and Trainer of the Year awards are presented to outstanding individuals who stand out for their dedication, quality as well as creativity.
Each year, the winner is selected by a jury chaired by Bernd Kütscher, Director of the Weinheim Academy. The titles: Baker of the Year and Trainer of the Year will be awarded on October 22 at the stand of the Zentralverband des deutschen Bäckerhandwerks e.V. at iba.

In 2023, a committee of the International Union of Bakers and Confectioners (UIBC) will again select the World Baker and World Confectioner of 2023. Since 2011, the prize has been awarded to special professionals from the industry. Some requirements apply: Participants must actively and independently operate a bakery-confectionery-cafe, have completed training as a baker or pastry chef, and have successfully participated in competitions, marketing activities, and innovative activities.

The Bundesehrenpreis des deutschen Bäckerhandwerks honors companies in the industry that deliver excellent quality performance. In 2023, the prize will be awarded on the stage of the German Bakers‘ Confederation at iba.

The four teams of two that have prevailed in the preliminary rounds will compete against each other in the grand finale at iba. Under the theme "Community," the teams will produce bread, cookies, yeast dough pastries and a showpiece. The Deutsche Bäcker-Nationalmannschaft will decide which team produces the best pastries and ultimately wins the title of "Deutscher Meister der Bäckermeister".
